The aim of the draft law is to implement nationwide a temporary mechanism of reviewing criminal cases in which persons have been convicted without proper evidence for grave and especially grave crimes under the Criminal Code of Ukraine of 28 December 1960, and are still serving a sentence; for such persons their rights for the fair trial and sentence should be restored.
