The draft law will allow the Anticorruption Bureau to intercept the information from the communication channels (wiretap) on its own. The Bureau is already wiretapping, but through the Security Service of Ukraine. The SSU can leak the information the Bureau intercepts, trade it or blackmail. If this draft law is not adopted right now, corrupt officials will get an opportunity to “clean up” their businesses, getting rid of solid evidence before it ends up in the Anticorruption Bureau.
