Ukraine is on its way to the European Union, and this path resembles a real casting call! What do we need in order to join? What challenges do we have to overcome? And how does civil society influence this process? These questions will be discussed by experts with host Victoria Novak in a new podcast from the Center of Policy and Legal Reform “Euro(pod)cast: Casting is on!”.
Our Executive Director Olga Lymar also joined the recording of the first episode. Together with Viktoriia Melnyk, coordinator of the Center’s European Integration Program, we discussed:
Olga Lymar is confident: “I think that bringing Ukraine closer to European standards is definitely a realistic path. The problem is that our Russia wants to drag us into an anti-democratic, and therefore anti-European development. For us, this is a geopolitical choice, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything they can to ensure that we can work towards its fulfillment. This process is not easy. We need to work hard, because there is a political dimension and a technical one (i.e., technical compliance with the law). But at every stage we have passed, we have had achievements that bring us closer to the EU step by step.”
