Ukraine gained candidate status for EU membership in June 2022. Two years later, in June 2024, official negotiations began on our country’s accession to the European Union. This is the penultimate and most challenging stage of European integration.
Ukraine’s path to the European Union involves a series of reforms. Espreso, in partnership with the RPR Coalition, spoke with Lithuanian MEP Paulius Saudargas about what the state needs to change and how the lives of Ukrainians will transform after the reforms are implemented and EU membership is achieved.
The Lithuanian politician and friend of Ukraine shared his assessment of Kyiv’s progress, advice based on his country’s experience, why Ukraine should develop green energy and fight corruption. He is confident that Ukraine is a strong player, and the economic and social transformations following EU accession will be tangible.
