The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, together with the State Enterprise “National Information Systems”, has implemented updated software for the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Formations (USR). The news was reported by the Ukrainian Independent Center for Political Research (UCIPR).
According to experts, the key updates include:
- Simplified registration of branches and representative offices of foreign legal entities;
- Introduction of the European Unique Identifier (EUID) — a step toward compatibility with the EU’s Business Registers Interconnection System (BRIS);
- A technical foundation to facilitate foreign investment in Ukraine.
What does this mean for civil society organizations?
- A more reliable and transparent source of information about NGOs and charitable organizations in the Register;
- In the future — faster identification of Ukrainian organizations by European institutions;
- Improved stability and speed of registration procedures;
- Gradual integration into the European open data infrastructure, enhancing transparency and accountability of the civil society sector.
UCIPR notes that this is not only an important step toward digitalizing public services, but also a signal of Ukraine’s readiness to integrate into the European legal and registry space.
