Taras Shevchenko, director of the Center for Democracy and Rule of Law, and Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, executive director of the Transparency International Ukraine, have become new co-chairmen. The RPR Board in the new composition voted for this resolution in the course of its first meeting.
Taras Shevchenko was elected as a co-chairman of the RPR Board for the second time. In 2016, it was Ihor Koliushko, chairman of the board of the Center for Political and Legal Reform, who was another co-chairman of the Coalition strategic management body.
“I would like to thank Ihor Koliushko, co-chairman of the RPR Board in 2016, as his experience and authority were extremely useful for the RPR development. I would also like to congratulate Yaroslav Yurchyshyn on his election to the position of the RPR Board co-chairman. Let me also express my gratitude to the members of the RPR Board for trusting me. The office of a co-chairman means, first of all, responsibility for ensuring that the RPR stays the most authoritative and recognizable coalition of non-governmental organizations. Our key task is to influence the national agenda-setting,” said Taras Shevchenko.
Yaroslav Yurchyshyn is also a chief expert of the RPR Anticorruption Reform Group. He was elected a member of the RPR Board at the Assembly of the NGOs-members of the coalition.
“I would like to thank my colleagues for their trust. My task as the co-chairman of the RPR Board is to engage new experts and NGOs to the coalition, as well as encourage the public to take more active part in the implementation of the reforms,” said Yaroslav Yurchyshyn.
According to the Coalition Charter, the RPR Board co-chairpersons have the following powers: to organize the meetings of the RPR Board; to sign the protocols of the RPR Board, resolutions, and addresses of the RPR Board; to ensure that the RPR Secretariat implements the resolutions adopted by the Board; to represent the RPR in the relations with its partners. Co-chairpersons of the Board of the Reanimation Package of Reforms are re-elected annually.
For reference: on November 22, the Assembly of the NGOs-members of the coalition elected a new composition of the RPR Board.
