Although the old systems resist, there is a progress in tackling corruption in Ukraine. A number of progressive bills aimed at opening property registers, tackling corruption in the field of public procurement and launching a system of electronic declaration for public officials were adopted and are now being implemented.
Newly created anticorruption agencies are accountable to society, less prone to political pressure and enjoy much higher level of trust than other non-reformed law enforcement bodies.
