This is not the first time that some MPs are trying to promote return of the beer ads in the media. Such attempts of the beer industry lobbyists including attempts to push through the draft law №2971, № 2971-1 and 2971-D. All draft laws have 90% identical content. Their goal is to return the beer ads on television and radio, to allow promotion of beer at point of sale and simplify doing business regardless of deregulation. The Reanimation Package of Reforms addressed this issue repeatedly with statements about the inadmissibility of the return of beer advertising in the media and promotion at point of sale. As it is known, on July 1, 2015, beer started to be considered as an alcoholic beverage. Hence, the beer has all restrictions that apply to spirits, in particular, this applies to the ban of beer advertising in the media. The public welcomes this progressive step towards reducing alcohol consumption, especially among children and youth.
