A critical discussion – a socio-political forum “Anniversary of the Coalition Agreement: an Action Plan or a Worthless Piece of Paper?” organized by the Reanimation Package of Reforms (RPR) civil initiative – will be held on November 27, a year after the Coalition Agreement of the Parliament of the 8^th convocation was adopted.

On this day politicians, experts, public activists, members of the diplomatic corps, and journalists will get together to summarize the results of Parliament’s work for the past year and publicly answer a number of important questions: “Has the widely promoted Coalition Agreement become an action plan for the Verkhovna Rada?”, “Have the decisive reforms been legally formalized for the past year?” “In which key reforms has the biggest progress been made, and in which ones the process of changes is being slowed down by the political elites?”, and “How should the Verkhovna Rada work during the forthcoming sessions to meet the public demand for critical reforms?”

Apart from the speeches of heads of the parliamentary factions, members of the Verkhovna Rada presidium, representatives of the Government and the President’s Administration, and leading experts, there will be five discussion panels regarding the top-priority areas of reforms: “Constitutional Amendments: a Foundation for the Country or the Bone of Contention?”, “Civil Service Reform: New Public Officers for a New Country”, “Anti-Corruption Reform: Scratch my Back and I’ll Scratch Yours! Here We Go Again?”, “Budgetary Reform: What Should Be Done About the State Budget ‘Cow’?”, and “Reforms in the Energy Sector: How to Turn On the Tap on a Pipe of Changes?”

Among the invited speakers of the Forum are:

• Jan Tombinski, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine
• Geoffrey Pyatt, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine
• leaders of the five parliamentary factions that signed the Coalition Agreement (Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Narodnyi Front, Batkivshchyna, the Radical Party of Oleh Liashko, and Samopomich);
• Volodymyr Groysman, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;
• Hennadiy Zubko, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing and Utility Services of Ukraine;
• Dmytro Shymkiv, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine;
• members of the Reanimation Package of Reforms (RPR) civil initiative.
